Since 2012, the Contemporary Dance Association Slovenia has been awarding the Ksenija Hribar Award for exceptional achievements in the field of contemporary dance. The biennial award is intended for creators in the field of contemporary dance in Slovenia who, with their excellence and innovation, significantly contribute to the quality and development of contemporary dance in our country. The purpose of the award is to promote the comprehensive development of the field of contemporary dance (the award is awarded to dancers, choreographers, dance pedagogues, critics, producers, lighting designers and sound designers in the field of contemporary dance), to motivate talented young creators, as well as to reward the long-term life work of individuals who have marked our space with their artistic, pedagogical or theoretical activities. The first awards ceremony was held in February 2013, at the conclusion of the Slovenian Dance Platform Gibanica.
